  • 2 Tablespoons + 2 Teaspoons Neutral Oil (such as canola, vegetable, avocado)
  • 1 Cup Granulated White Sugar
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
  • 2/3 Cup Cocoa Powder
  • 2 Whole Large Eggs (room temp)
  • 1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 Cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 Cup Homemade or Store-Bought Pistachio Cream
  • 3 Cups Kataifi (measured after cutting)
  • 3 Tablespoons Unsalted or Salted Butter
  • 7 Ounces Milk Chocolate Bar (finely chopped)
  • 1/3 Cup + 1 Tablespoon Heavy Cream
  • 7 Ounces Milk Chocolate Bar (finely chopped)
  • 3/4 Cup + 2 Tbsps Heavy Cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325ºF (162ºC) and line an 8-inch square pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a saucepan over medium-low heat, melt butter, oil, sugar, and salt. Stir in cocoa powder until combined.
  3. Add eggs one at a time and mix well. Fold in flour gently.
  4. Spread the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 19 to 22 minutes until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs. Let cool completely.
  5. Prepare pistachio cream if making homemade; otherwise, skip this step.
  6. Cut thawed kataifi into small pieces and sauté in melted butter until golden brown. Mix in pistachio cream.
  7. Spread the filling over the cooled brownie layer.
  8. For the ganache, heat heavy cream until simmering, then add chopped chocolate and stir until smooth.
  9. Spread ganache over the pistachio filling and chill until set.
