  • 1 box strawberry cake mix
  • 1 1/3 cups guava nectar or juice
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 8 oz Cool Whip or whipped cream
  • 2 cups guava nectar or juice (for glaze)
  • 1/2 cup sugar (for glaze)
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 3 tbsp water

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a mixing bowl, combine the strawberry cake mix, guava nectar, eggs, and melted butter. Mix until smooth.
  2. Pour the batter into a greased 9 x 13 pan and bake for 28-33 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow it to cool completely.
  3. For the cream cheese filling, beat together softened cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Fold in the Cool Whip and refrigerate.
  4. To make the guava glaze, heat guava nectar and sugar in a saucepan until boiling. Mix cornstarch and water in a bowl, then add it to the saucepan. Cook until thickened.
  5. Once cooled, spread the cream cheese mixture over the cake, then pour the glaze on top. Refrigerate for at least one hour before serving.
