  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup cane sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/3 cups + 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup cherries (pitted and chopped)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together softened butter, brown sugar, and cane sugar until light and fluffy. Add the egg and vanilla, mixing until combined.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Gradually fold this dry mixture into the wet ingredients until just incorporated.
  4. Stir in chocolate chips and chopped cherries by hand.
  5. Using a cookie scoop, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them apart. Bake for about 12 minutes until golden brown around the edges.
  6. Let cool on the baking sheet for three minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
