Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons coarse sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter and sauté sliced apples until softened. Stir in cinnamon and brown sugar; cook until caramelized (about 5-7 minutes). Allow to cool.
  3. Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a clean surface and cut in half lengthwise.
  4. Place one half on a lined baking sheet, add the apple filling, leaving space around the edges.
  5. Brush egg wash along the edges, then cover with the second half of pastry. Seal edges by pinching and create vents on top.
  6. Brush the top with egg wash and sprinkle coarse sugar.
  7. Bake for about 20 minutes or until golden brown.
