  • 1/4 cup finely chopped red onion
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 large egg
  • 4 whole wheat hamburger buns
  • 1/2 cup sliced avocado
  • 1/4 cup salsa
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  2. In a bowl, mix ground turkey with breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, red onion, and olive oil.
  3. Add chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper to the mixture.
  4. Crack in the egg and combine well. Form into four even patties.
  5. Grill patties for 5-6 minutes per side until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F.
  6. Toast the whole wheat buns on the grill for 1-2 minutes.
  7. Assemble by spreading salsa on the buns, placing patties on top, and adding avocado and cilantro.
