S’mores Rolls are the ultimate indulgent treat that combines the nostalgia of campfire s’mores with the comfort of warm, fluffy rolls. Picture this: a soft dough filled with rich chocolate ganache and crunchy graham cracker crumbs, all topped with a light, vegan meringue.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup lukewarm milk
  • 1/4 cup lukewarm water
  • 2 1/4 tsp instant yeast
  • 3 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/8 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/3 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup graham cracker crumbs
  • 2 large egg whites
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/8 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter (for filling)
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter (for dough and brushing)
  • 1/8 tsp salt (for filling)

Instructions

  1. Combine lukewarm milk and water in a bowl; mix in instant yeast and let sit until frothy.
  2. Add sugar, flour, melted butter, and salt to the yeast mixture; knead until smooth.
  3. In a saucepan over low heat, melt cocoa powder, heavy whipping cream, chocolate chips, sugar, unsalted butter, vanilla extract, and salt.
  4. Roll out dough into a rectangle; spread chocolate filling and sprinkle with graham cracker crumbs. Roll tightly and cut into pieces.
  5. Place in a baking dish; brush tops with melted butter and bake at 350°F (175°C) until golden brown.
  6. Beat egg whites with cream of tartar until soft peaks form; gradually add granulated sugar until stiff peaks form.
  7. Spread meringue on baked rolls and toast lightly in the oven before serving.
