Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 New York Strip steak
  • 2 medium yellow onions (thinly sliced)
  • 2 tsp balsamic glaze (divided)
  • Lemon herb aioli
  • Fresh arugula
  • 1 ciabatta loaf (sliced in half)
  • Salt and black pepper (to taste)
  • Optional: 2 tbsp butter

Instructions

  1. Season the New York Strip steak with salt and black pepper. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat, adding optional butter. Sear the steak for 4-5 minutes on each side until cooked to your preference. Let it rest.
  2. In the same skillet, add sliced yellow onions, reduce heat to medium-low, sprinkle with salt, and sauté for 10-15 minutes until golden. Drizzle in 1 tsp balsamic glaze and mix well.
  3. Spread lemon herb aioli on the cut sides of ciabatta. Layer fresh arugula, seared steak slices, and caramelized onions on one half of the bread. Drizzle with another tsp of balsamic glaze before topping.
  4. Cut the sandwich in half and serve warm.
