Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups (360g) all-purpose or bread flour
  • 1 ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp instant yeast
  • 1 cup (240ml) lukewarm water
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (for greasing)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and yeast. Add lukewarm water and mix until a soft, sticky dough forms.
  2. Cover the bowl with a damp towel or plastic wrap and let rise at room temperature for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
  3. Lightly flour your surface and gently turn out the dough. Fold it over itself 2-3 times and place it on a floured parchment-lined baking sheet. Let it rise for another 30 minutes.
  4. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C). Bake the ciabatta for 22-25 minutes until golden brown and hollow-sounding when tapped.
  5. Allow the loaf to cool on a wire rack before slicing.
