  • ½ teaspoon mustard powder
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups beef stock
  • 1 jar (15 ounces) tomato sauce
  • ¾ cup heavy cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 6 ounces shredded extra-sharp cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta shells according to package instructions until al dente; drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat olive oil and brown the ground beef for about 3-5 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add diced onion and cook until translucent (2-3 minutes). Stir in minced garlic, Italian seasoning, paprika, and mustard powder; cook for another minute until fragrant.
  4. Whisk in flour until lightly browned (about one minute). Gradually add beef stock and tomato sauce; bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 6-8 minutes.
  5. Stir in cooked pasta shells, heavy cream, salt, and pepper; heat through gently.
  6. Finally, mix in shredded cheddar cheese until melted.
