  • 2 tsp black tea leaves (or 2 tea bags)
  • 1½ cups water
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 34 whole cardamom pods, crushed
  • 1-inch piece fresh ginger, sliced
  • 23 whole cloves
  • 12 tbsp coconut sugar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Boil water in a pot and add the cinnamon stick, crushed cardamom pods, sliced ginger, and whole cloves. Simmer for about 5 minutes to infuse flavors.
  2. Add black tea leaves (or tea bags) and steep for 3-5 minutes based on desired strength.
  3. Stir in coconut milk and let it simmer on low heat for another 2-3 minutes.
  4. Sweeten with coconut sugar to taste, mixing well.
  5. Strain into cups and garnish with ground cinnamon or star anise if desired.
