  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon peanut oil (or vegetable oil)
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup chicken stock (or beef stock)
  • 2 tablespoons dry apple juice
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dark soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons brown sugar (or white sugar)
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 head broccoli, cut into bite-size florets
  • 1 tablespoon peanut oil (or vegetable oil)
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 teaspoons ginger, minced

Instructions

  1. Slice beef against the grain into thin strips and marinate with soy sauce, peanut oil, and cornstarch for about 10 minutes.
  2. Combine chicken stock, dry apple juice, soy sauce, dark soy sauce, brown sugar, and cornstarch in a bowl to make the sauce.
  3. Steam broccoli in a skillet until tender yet bright green (about one minute), then set aside.
  4. Heat peanut oil in the skillet and sear the marinated beef until browned. Add garlic and ginger shortly after.
  5. Mix in steamed broccoli and sauce; stir until everything is coated and sauce thickens (about one minute).
