  • 1/2 cup green bell pepper, chopped

  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 2 cups chicken broth

  • 1 tsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp thyme
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

  1. In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Add sliced turkey sausage and cook until browned (5-7 minutes). Remove from pan.
  2. In the same skillet, sauté chopped onion, green bell pepper, and minced garlic until softened (3-4 minutes).
  3. Sprinkle flour over vegetables and stir to create a roux; cook for 1-2 minutes.
  4. Gradually pour in chicken broth while stirring continuously. Simmer for about 5-7 minutes until thickened.
  5. Stir in heavy cream, Cajun seasoning, thyme, salt, and pepper. Return sausage to skillet and mix well.
  6. Let everything simmer for an additional 5 minutes to meld flavors.
  7. Serve hot over rice or mashed potatoes.
