  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9×5-inch loaf pans.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the buttermilk until combined.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together flour and baking soda, then gradually add to the wet mixture.
  6. Mix until just combined; be careful not to overmix.
  7. For the cinnamon swirl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.
  8. Layer 1/4 of the batter into each pan, sprinkle with 1/4 of the cinnamon mixture, and repeat.
  9. Use a knife to gently swirl through the batter.
  10. Bake for 45–50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  11. Allow cooling in pans for about 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
